Privacy
This site has no sign-up, no login and sells nothing. What it stores about you fits in one table, and the table is right below.
What stays in your browser
- lang 1 year
- Remembers whether you read in Portuguese or English, so the site opens in your language next time.
- consent 6 months
- Stores your answer about measurement, so I do not ask again on every visit.
- _ga, _ga_* Up to 2 years
- Google Analytics, to count visits and tell returning readers from first-time ones. They only exist if you accept.
The visit measurement
I use Google Analytics to know how many people open the site, which pages they read, where they came from and whether they were on a phone or a computer. That is what tells me whether any of this is helping anyone.
What it does not tell me is who you are. No name, no email, no way to tie a visit to a person. And none of it is sold or passed on.
If you decline, no Google cookie is created and no identifier is generated. Google only gets word that someone opened the page, with nothing pointing back at you, and uses that to estimate the total.
When you email me
The email you send lands in my inbox and stays there, like any other email. I use the address to reply to you, and that is all. It joins no list, becomes no newsletter and goes nowhere else.
Changing your mind
Any time. There is a Cookies link in the footer of every page: it brings the question back, and the new answer takes effect immediately.
If you prefer, clearing this site's cookies in your browser does the same thing and wipes what was already there.
